Ilfracombe is located on the north Devon coast. This hilly seaside resort offers a harbour, and is surrounded by cliffs. Hillsborough Hill in the harbour is the site of an Iron Age Celtic fortress. Ilfracombe is situated within the North Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A seasonal passenger ferry runs from the harbour to Lundy Island, and pleasure boats operate a variety of cruises from Ilfracombe, including crossings to Wales.
