Open Canoe Sailing Group The Open Canoe Sailing Group is a UK wide club for those interested in sailing small, lightweight craft. Many canoes and some kayaks can be adapted to use sails as well as paddles and there are also purpose-built sailing canoes that work particularly well for our kind of adventure sailing using a small boat to go out exploring the environment. Sailing canoes are very portable and can be easily carried on the roof rack of most cars. They are quick to rig and easy to launch. Unlike most dinghies they do not need a slipway, which greatly increases their accessibility to water. The club holds weekend meets in various parts of the UK on inland and sometimes coastal waters.
