  • Laburnum Boat Club

Laburnum Boat Club is a small children's charity, set up in 1983 by a group of local parents. Our mission is to provide opportunities for the personal development of young people and their families in the local community through participation in a range of water-based activities. We aim to be a positive force for changing lives in a safe and supportive environment. Our current activites include: a busy youth club, after-school, every Saturday and Mon-Fri in school holidays; two sports clubs for young people with disabilities; a free vocational employment training scheme for 16-25yr olds to become instructors; an Adult Canoe Club; a club for adults with mental health issues; a Family Club; courses and fun days for local schools and 3narrowboats for use by youth, community and welfare groups.
